Almedalen 2026
7 Security brings together cyber preparedness, partnerships, and leadership during Almedalen Week. During Almedalen Week, 7 Security will be in Visby with stage appearances, partnerships, and the new meeting place 7 Security Safe Harbor, in collaboration with Barracuda. The focus is on how organizations can strengthen their cyber preparedness before the pressure becomes real. “Almedalen is an important venue for discussions about responsibility, preparedness, and societal resilience,” says Daniel Ekroth, COO of 7 Security.
Almedalen brings together decision-makers, experts, companies, and stakeholders from all over Sweden. For 7 Security, participating in the event is a way to contribute to the conversation about how cybersecurity needs to evolve from a strategic issue to an operational capability. Today, the threat landscape affects both large and small organizations, government agencies, critical infrastructure, and companies that play a crucial role in their respective value chains.
“For us, it’s about sharing lessons learned from real-world incidents while creating a forum where more organizations and companies can understand what cyber preparedness means in practice,” says Mike Kolacz of 7 Security.
During the week, Daniel Ekroth, COO of 7 Security, will also take the stage at SäkerhetsArenan alongside SäkerhetsBranschen for the session “Cybersecurity and Resilience—How Do We Protect Society in the Digital Age?”. The discussion will focus on how Sweden can strengthen its ability to withstand cyberattacks, ransomware, and threats from various actors in an era where digitalization creates both opportunities and new vulnerabilities.
Also participating in the discussion are Carl Piva, CEO of the Internet Foundation; Mats Hultgren, Director of Cyber Risk at Trusec; and Nina Shariati, Founder and CEO of Circular Transparency. The moderator is Jeanette Lesslie Wikström from SäkerhetsBranschen.
“Cybersecurity preparedness requires clearly defined roles, effective incident response workflows, the right information for decision-making, and the ability to act when the pressure is real. This applies regardless of whether the organization has its own security department or relies on external partners to detect, understand, and address threats in a timely manner,” says Daniel Ekroth.
As part of its presence at Almedalen, 7 Security is also launching 7 Security Safe Harbor in collaboration with Barracuda. The concept is a meeting place in Visby Harbor for focused discussions on cyber readiness, leadership, and decision-making under pressure. The name reflects the harbor setting, but also the need for a safe space where leaders, partners, and decision-makers can have concrete discussions about responsibility, risk, and preparedness.
“Cyber resilience is built on collaboration. Technology is key, but it needs to be combined with clear processes, the right expertise, and the ability to act quickly when something happens. That’s why we’re pleased to be helping create a forum where these issues can be discussed in concrete terms,” says Kristian Lundström, Solutions Architect at Barracuda.
Safe Harbour is based on a simple insight: when a cyber incident occurs, there is rarely time to start sorting out responsibilities, decision-making paths, and technical dependencies. That work needs to be done before every minute counts. That is why this meeting place is being created as a forum for discussions about what organizations need to have in place before threats become incidents and incidents become business-critical.
“We see a great need to make cybersecurity preparedness more understandable and more actionable. Safe Harbor gives us the opportunity to meet with decision-makers, partners, and customers in a setting where discussions can be both strategic and very practical. The key is for more organizations to move from awareness to capability before the pressure becomes real,” concludes Daniel Ekroth, COO of 7 Security.
